Tc 14eii. The Nikon TC-14EII 14x Teleconverter works with both those lenses without limitation. Even though it was updated to the MkII model a while ago the only differences between the TC-14E and TC-14EII were the exterior cosmetics finish. I have the TC-20 III also and wonder how it will be with my new 70-200E FL lens. Nikons current generation of teleconverters works with AF-IAF-S lenses only.
D850 works well enough with the Tc-14eii i use it from time to time. This is the first time I notice a teleconverter improving the lens original sharpness and contrast. 422012 I went out to a local nature preserve with my 600mm f4 AFS G VR Nikkor and the TC-14E and TC-17EII convertersI was very pleased with the results. Its front elements poke out so they are shrouded in rubber. When paired with the 200-500 f56 though based on my experience I believe you would get better quality pictures not using it and just cropping to the equivalent size. You lose some sharpness and a couple of f.

Anytime you get into a situation where you have 1000 mm of focal length even small focus errors will be noticeable.
