Sigma 100 400 Vs 150 600. 6282017 On paper a 100-400mm f45-56 offers a relatively compact light and more versatile package in comparison with a 150-600mm f5-63. The only thing we seem to disagree on is what is too heavy. 5312018 But for just trying to get an excellent birding lens the Sigma 150-600 is excellent as is the Tamron. Stopping down to f8 reduces most of the sharpness advantages one lens has over the other.

The Sigma has sharper corners at 150mm and 500mm but the Tamron has sharper corners at 400mm.

5102019 I was saving for the 150-600 when the 100-400 came along. From published specs though the Sigmas weigh more than the Fuji if that matters–a lot more in the case of the Sport 150-600. To me it would hinge on whether I needed the 400-600 range you get with the Sigmas.
