Nikon AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f28G ED. 8192020 I have a Nikon D700 and was in search of a wide angle lens. Its my favorite Nikon ultrawide. Even sharper than the 14-24. One is 10 years newer cheaper and possibly sharper cleaner through and through. F you shoot FX or 35mm on a modern camera get one of these 16-35mm lenses today.

I think we have a clear winner based on a few different factors. The 14-2428G was one of my grail. I sold my 16-35 in favor of the 14-24 in the end. Its slightly sharper than the 14-24mm adds VR uses normal filters and is smaller lighter and less expensive. Lenses with built-in focus motor focus faster and more quietly than lenses without a focus motor which rely on the cameras body focus motor. 14mm is just so incredibly ultra-wide that it often simply wastes space around the edge of your images.
