Mammoth Hot Springs Elk. This is Classic Mammoth Hot Springs. View All Yellowstone National Park videos. You might see them congregating on the lawns at Officers Row alongside the Gardner River in the Gardner Canyon or outside the park near the historic Roosevelt Arch. They were going crazy.

It feels like you are visiting a little town. 8272019 Elk are common in Mammoth Hot Springs while bison can often been seen along the road out to TowerRoosevelt. The Mammoth Hot Springs hike on the boardwalk was amazing but we also were getting punished by waking our youngest up early.

652018 On June 3 a Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel employee was seriously injured after an encounter with a cow elk behind the hotel. Visitors generally limit themselves to the much-photographed Palette Springs on the lower terrace but even more spectacular beauty can be found on the terraces above a surreal moonscape of hot-spring pools steam and crystallizing travertine. They seem to be unconcerned about the attraction that they cause and pretty much have the run of the area. If you are looking for a great place to stay the Mammoth Inn is a great place to start your trip out of. They love hanging out there as much as the people. 2 minutes 24 seconds.
