The D7500 is a killer camera with almost all the advantages of the D500 and D7200 combined. I am trying to replicate that on my D7000 and am pretty happy with the standard picture control with a 2 step boost to sharpening contrast brightness and max saturation. The D7000 tries to focus on faces. At the same time Japanese manufacturer made sure the D7000 line did not compete with the high-end D300s because it was inferior in several aspects such as autofocus system.
Nikon claims the D7000 will try to focus and track a moving subject but it just cant work quickly enough.
