Floe Lake Hike. Numa Peak and Floe Lake Loop is a 154 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Banff Alberta Canada that features a lake and is rated as difficult. Beautiful Floe Lake itself is located at the bottom of a massive 1000m sheer rock face. This trail goes by Paint Pots Ochre Spring HelmetOchre Jct. The trail is well graded and the actual distance is short and once reaching the top Floe Lake is just a few hundred meters further.
Floe Lake is in a lovely setting at the base of the Rockwall. A warden campground lies just to the west of the campground. Right around its shores there is an alpine larch forest. Most of the trail meanders its way through open meadows and burnt forest teeming with fireweed and various wildflowers.
